Christy -

We are a primary care clinic and have limited access to specialists.  We do not have any neurologists who take our patients.  If you need primary care or assistance with medications, you are welcome to call and make an appointment to see a physician or nurse practitioner.  As of today, our May schedule is completely booked and we will be releasing the June schedule within a day or so.

Ive already tried to get Medicaid, but was declined because I now live with my parents.  Even though they don't pay any of my bills at all they denied me.  I haven't even been able to see any of my neurologists in the last 3 yrs because I just cannot afford the care..ty

I was put on disability late last summer.  Unfortunately, I have to wait 2 yrs. to qualify for Medicare, so obviously Im uninsured.   I have an upper motor neuron disease called "Hereditary Spastic Paraplegia".  Both my knees hyper-extend so badly that Im in great pain in my right knee.  I really need it looked at.  Is the clinic taking new patients at all ?  Do I need to sign up or fill out an application anywhere ?  Or, do I just show up when your open to the public and sign in somewhere ? I live in Cary...ty

To apply for Medicaid, you must go in person to the nearest Public Aid office.  The McHenry County office is in Woodstock off of Rt. 14.  If you are disabled and unable to get into the office, you may call the state health phone number at 1 800 843 6154 and they will mail an application to you.  You can apply for certain - but not all - benefits online at this site: http://www.hfs.illinois.gov/medical/apply.html

As long as you don't have insurance and live in McHenry County, you qualify.  Please call our appointment desk to make an appointment at 815 334-8987 ext.10.  The best time to call is towards the first of the month when we open up the schedule for the following month.  As you can imagine, the demand far exceeds the capacity at the Clinic, so there may be a wait to get an apppointment.
