Supported Community Living
Community living services are tailored to each person’s needs. These services allow individuals to live in their own homes or apartments as independently as possible. Services can be provided on an individual or group basis. Our group settings provide 24-hour staff support to encourage each person to become as independent as possible in his/her community. Group living settings are located in Jefferson, Storm Lake, Boone, Winterset, Indianola, Panora and Adel.
Support is provided in the following areas:
Socialization skills
Symptom and behavior management
Medication management
Communication and language skills
Crisis prevention and intervention
Use of public transportation
Financial training and assistance
Payee Services
Domestic skills training
Safety skills

Group Living Experiences
Four and five person group living arrangements - Genesis maintains group homes in Jefferson, Boone, Storm Lake, Winterset, Indianola, Panora and Adel. The homes provide experiences in independent living while assisting individuals to achieve their maximum potential.
Ten-person RCF/MR – The Harrison Home in Jefferson provides opportunities to learn skills that would lead to more independence. Typically, individuals who are unable to maintain consistency with meeting necessary health, hygiene, functional skills and/or behavior objectives are appropriate for admission in this program. In addition to RCF/MR funding, the Harrison Home is also HCBS funded.

Home and Vehicle Modification
Genesis Development will act as a facilitator between a consumer and a contractor hired by the consumer to modify a home or vehicle for his/her use.

Respite Services
Genesis Development offers respite services only to caregivers of individuals who are participating in other Genesis programs by providing temporary care for the consumer. Duration of care could vary from an hour to an occasional weekend. Services would include whatever necessary care the usual caregiver provides.
