We are a community-supported
non-profit grantmaking organization started by activists who knew first hand
that Idaho needed its own base of support for grassroots social change work.
What we do...
We pool resources
from forward thinking individuals and businesses to support community-led
efforts for human rights and environmental justice, support the training and
leadership development necessary to strengthen this work, and cultivate the
conditions that make lasting, long-term change possible.
What we support...
We distribute these resources as
grants to grassroots organizations with
little or no access to other financial resources and that are often too small,
too new, or working on issues too controversial for traditional funding sources.
Our Giving Priorities...
We focus on supporting community-based organizations
working for human rights (empowering
marginalized communities, including women, LGBTQ, those with disabilities,
those with mental illness, immigrants, and rural communities; and working for economic fairness, including food security, health care access, and access to shelter) and environmental
health (protecting land & people from contamination, fostering informed
consumer choices, and promoting renewable energy development).
Advantages to giving to Fund for Idaho...
We bring together those who want to invest in justice
with those who are actively pursuing justice. We invest in Idaho’s future by
supporting projects that seek out the root causes of social problems and pose
new solutions. Our community-based strategic philanthropy offers a unique
alternative to traditional charitable giving.
