Want to apply for a grant or learn about grants we have made in previous years?

We have finished restructuring our grant process. Our 2011 grant cycle will happen in the fall of 2011. Revised grant guidelines are now posted and grant applications are due by October 15, 2011.  We ask that applicants who submitted applications by January 31, 2011 update their applications before they are considered. They should complete an updated grant cover sheet and a one-page update outlining changes they wish to make to their application, if any. The updated application forms are now available for download at the grant application process page linked to below.

New information:

Fund for Idaho has three funds that support its grantees.
  • The Startup Fund supports groups 3 years old or less for work on specific giving priorities for up to one year. These grants can be up to $2,000.
  • The Grassroots Organizing Fund supports project work on specific giving priorities for a one year period. These grants can be up to $3,000.
  • The Anchor Fund gives general support funds to build the organizing capacity and organizational stability of existing activist organizations. These grants can be up to $5,000 and may be renewed for a second year.
Fund for Idaho uses its grants to support the strategic grassroots work of Idaho organizers. This work focuses on creating lasting change by actively addressing the root causes of injustice and environmental issues in our state. At this time, we have two funding priorities:
  • Human Rights, which covers empowering marginalized communities, including women, LBGTQ, disabilities, immigrants, those with disabilities, those with mental illness, and rural communities; and working for economic fairness, including food security, health care access,  and access to shelter)
  • Environmental Health, which includes protecting land & people from contamination, fostering informed consumption, and promoting renewable energy development.
Fund for Idaho normally has one grant cycle per year. Revised guidelines are now available on our website and applications must be postmarked by October 15, 2011.

If you are a considering applying for a grant for the first time, YOU MUST CALL US before submitting an application to discuss whether the work you want us to fund falls within our funding guidelines.
