Transitional Housing - Security/Reception - Per Diem
The Reception/Security team member reports to the Facility Manager
Responsibilities/Qualifications:
- Greet all visitors and direct them to the appropriate party
- Search the bags of all persons entering and leaving the facility
· Provides appropriate information to people (consumers, colleagues, third-parties) needed to gain or give services, in a courteous, professional manner.
· Answers phone with courtesy; guides callers to appropriate party; offers appropriate information over the phone and ends all calls per customer service manual guidelines
· Maintain all agency materials (brochures, informational flyers) in a visible position and stocked for visitors and staff at all times
- Working knowledge of the fire systems and a certificate of fitness
- Working knowledge of all the emergency service information and be able to direct the emergency personnel in a professional manner.
· Make hourly checks of the facility to ensure the safety of residents and staff
· Maintain a daily log
· Respond to and deescalate incidents
· Receive and log packages
· Monitor activity in the facility via camera system
· Have basic knowledge of computers
· Have good written and verbal communication skills
· Bi-lingual English/Spanish a plus
Transitional Housing - Program Aide - Per Diem
The Program Aide reports to the Shelter Director.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide support to shelter team as needed. Monitor and report on client interactions. Responsible for making appropriate log book entries. Conduct daily bed/bath check. Make regular rounds in facility. Emergency response and crisis intervention as needed. Provide relief for front door coverage as needed. Assist kitchen staff with light food prep, serving meals, obtaining food items from food storage using FIFO(first in first out) procedures, check and clean kitchen regularly during shift, ensure coffee machine is clean , full and serviceable, empty trash.
QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or GED. Experience working with homeless preferred.
- Good writing and oral communication skills.
- Must possess the ability to follow directions and work closely with others.
- Food Handling, Fire Safety and First Aid/CPR certification or the ability to pass testing to acquire these credential required.
- Able to travel on public transportation.
- Three years of continuous sobriety if recovering.
- Bi-lingual Spanish/English a plus.
Freedom House - Resident Aide - Per Diem
The Resident Aide reports to the Shift Supervisor and is responsible for assisting in the maintenance of a secure work environment for staff, residents and visitors.
Responsibilities
§ Provide coverage at the Reception Desk in monitoring entry and exit of staff, residents and visitors; answering and directing, as appropriate, telephone calls; and completing other administrative duties as requested by supervisors.
§ Assist in monitoring compliance with fire and other safety regulations related to the facility.
§ Assist in addressing and following up on any incidents related to security or safety within the facility, providing emergency response and crisis management help as needed.
§ Ensure timely and appropriate completion of all log and incident documentation required by supervisors in recording security and safety issues/incidents.
§ Assist with resident programs, as needed.
§ Complete light housekeeping tasks, when directed.
Qualifications
§ Minimum of six months prior experience working in a residential setting.
§ Minimum of high school diploma (or GED).
§ Strong oral communication skills and fundamental writing competency required.
§ Ability to think and act calmly in emergency situations required.
§ Experience working with people with disabilities highly desirable.
§ Spanish or other non-English language skills and/or American Sign Language skills a plus.
Transitional Housing Facility: Cook - Per Diem
Responsibilities/Qualifications:
- Prepare and serve breakfast and lunch, inventory food deliveries, maintain stock controls, use FIFO procedures.
- Maintain proper food handling procedures, regularly checks and clean kitchen area during work hours.
- Monitor freezer and refrigeration units’ temperatures, thoroughly clean and sanitize kitchen refrigerator regularly and clean shelves, counters and carts regularly.
- Clean all kitchen appliances daily and after each use.
- Break down and clean stove, oven vents and surrounding areas twice a month, supervise kitchen maintenance personnel.
- Maintain daily operations of the kitchen and dining areas during work hours, note daily meal counts and set out meats for next day meals using proper storage procedures.
- Inform immediate supervisor of any policy, procedures or menu changes.
Freedom House: Children's Psychiatrist - Children's Services - Consultant
The Children’s Psychiatrist in the Children’s Services department reports to the Coordinator of Children’s Services at Freedom House.
Responsibilities:
- Provide psychiatric care, 4 hours a week, for children and adolescents, residing in a domestic violence shelter.
- Clinical responsibilities will involve diagnosis of patients, recommendation for treatment and medication management.
- Provide referrals for mental health treatment
- Perform crisis intervention
- Maintain adequate and timely case records.
- Flexible days and times
Qualifications:
- MD
- Basic computer skills
- Bilingual Spanish/English necessary
- Provide own malpractice insurance
Freedom House: Child Care Worker (Per Diem)
Requirements:
- 1 – 2 years of experience working with children in an educational or social services setting.
- High School Diploma; AA in Education preferred
Responsibilities:
- Follow curriculum and lesson plans
- Engage children in recreational and play activities
- Maintain effective disciplinary policies
- Maintain good communication and share concerns with clinical team
- 18yrs or older
- Teacher Assistant Certification preferred
- Applicants must have a minimum of 2 yrs experience working in an Educational Setting (school, day care, head start program or nursery)
- Per-Diem Child Care Workers are on-call since childcare is needed sporadically.
- Acceptable background clearance including fingerprinting
