BFL provides a range of services and linkages to other community resources through our various programs, enabling individuals to overcome the obstacles that stand in the way of their living dignified, secure lives.

* Freedom House, a 44-apartment family emergency shelter for domestic violence survivors with disabilities and domestic violence survivors with children with disabilities. Freedom House was named “NEW YORKER OF THE WEEK” by NY1, NEW YORK CITY’S ACCLAIMED 24-HOUR NEWS-CHANNEL.
* The Secret Garden, a non-residential domestic violence intervention program providing case management, individual advocacy and safety planning for individuals with disabilities who have also experienced domestic violence;
* Transitional Housing, providing 24 single women and 24 single men with disabilities with shelter, case management, and independent living skills training and serving as the only program in New York City where people requiring the services of a homecare attendant can find shelter;
* Outreach Team, a program that reaches out to homeless people with multiple disabilities to provide them with information and referrals, ongoing support to find housing, training and other support services.
