The Casa Libre Supportive Housing Program was established in 1995 to provide shelter and supportive services for homeless families. Casa Libre targets Latino families, including those with older children up to age 17 and multiple children. The program provides needs assessment, bi-lingual substance abuse treatment, case management and social service linkage/advocacy, and vocational/educational preparation and assistance. The Casa Libre SHP is funded via the Los Angeles Homeless Services Authority and a Community Block Grant from the City of Los Angeles to provide 24 beds with on-site supportive services, including addiction treatment and mental health counseling.
