Juanita & Jeanie:
Two Special Girls
Looking For A Home
Juanita and Jeanie are beautiful girls. And they have a special story. They came to NIPRA after starting their lives as breeder pugs. They came from bad breeder situations where they were not a beloved pet.But these girls are lucky. The found their way into rescue and they are now being spoiled and loved. In a nurturing environment with lots of love and patience, they will become the awesome companions they were mean to be.
Pugs who start their lives the way Juanita and Jeanie did usually do well in homes with other dogs. Often they are more comfortable with other dogs than they are with humans. When placing these pugs we will look for homes with other dogs as companions for them.
They are working on their housetraining but since they didn’t grow up in a typical home they may need a bit more work than other pugs. But the good news is that with proper attention and training they will come up to speed quickly.
These girls are doing well and learning quickly but they will need some extra attention to leash training. It will take them a bit of extra time to adjust when they go to their permanent home but with time and patience they will learn to trust and become secure with their new environment.
Jeanie is a sweet but very, very timid girl. She is taking her time adjusting to life in a home.
Juanita has adjusted quicker in her foster home than Jeanie who is still a bit fearful of humans and very timid.
Juanita and Jeanie are great girls who will blossom.Working with them can be a very rewarding experience, but only if you are up to the challenge. If you think your home may be right for one of these girls, please consider completing an application for them.
Tracy Needs Your Help
Tracy is an approx. 8
year old black, BLIND female pug. She has found a great foster home and her foster mom took her to see the eye specialist and we've learned that she needs to have both eyes removed. Her eyes were damaged years ago but her problems are progressing to the point that removing the eyes is critical to her health. This procedure is going to be expensive so, if you can, please consider making a donation toward her medical care. If you might be interested in adopting her when she is ready, please see her listing under adoptable pugs. She will need a special home who understands the needs of blind dogs and who can provide her with a safe and secure environment. She is also aggressive with some other dogs and would do best as an only dog in a home where her humans are around a lot.
