OUTREACH AND INTERPRETATION

Due to fear of authorities and lack of financial resources many do not frequent public clinics or other related service agencies. Their trust in most agencies is quite limited. Lack of transportation and childcare to avail themselves of services in the City and State are obstacles for them. There are no other services providers in our area who are prepared to deal with the language and cultural needs of this population on the scale in which it’s needed.

Through this program, we provide information about public benefits such as food stamps, Medicaid, and Kid care.

  • Referrals to community health clinics
  • Referrals for food assistance programs such as WIC and MAC
  • We help to fill out Kid care applications, health insurance for children, and pregnant women.
  • We also help to fill out public aid applications
  • For clients who need assistance or interpretation, we accompany them to the different public aid offices: social security, public aid, etc.
  • Informative presentations for the community about different public benefits.
