wHERE CAN i FIND ANSWERS TO A QUESTION i POSTED ?

i have a seth thomas mantle clock that belonged to my mothers uncle.  It is missing all decorations, it has old nail holes on the front of the clock so i know there was some kind of embelishments. The stamps or stenciled numbers on the bottom of the clock looks like 1880 (cant read the rest) i have been searching the internet but am unable to see a picture that looks like mine.  I wanted to see if i could replace the decorations but i have no idea what to look for.  The top of the case of the clock has a high hump - it is not flat. can you tell me where to look  or maybe i should well enough alone?!

OLIVER, NEW YORK CLOCK

This is a most unusual clock. The front face says “Oliver - New York” etched into it. I should like to find out who the maker was. It looks like a mantle clock and it opens only from the front. The only clue, on the inside it says the works are marked “Fairhaven”. Roman numerals are on enamel cartouches with a black mahogney case.

There was a Fairhaven Clock Company, in Fairhaven, Vt. They were only in business from 1894-1898. The company was formed when the Eastman Clock Co. failed and Joseph Eastman joined with Busby Bell Tool Co. of Fairhaven Vt. To form the Fairhaven Clock Co. Can anyone help me find out about this clock ?

I have a restored Seth Thomas Mantle clock. I think it is called a column and splat with a wooden movement dating from 1813 to 1818, I was told it was guaranteed for a lifetime to keep good time. Good time back then was within 45 minutes a day or so I was told. The clock is by no means perfect but does keep time in a controlled environment to about 20 seconds a day. I was looking for pictures of original clocks and glass to see how other clocks stood next to mine.
